What Personal Data We Collect & Why We Collect It

In general, you are able to visit Dance Africa Network website without revealing who you are or any information about yourself. However, our web servers will collect information (standard information that your browser sends to every website visited) for statistical purposes, such as the number of visits, the pages viewed, which website you came from before clicking into the Dance Africa Network website, the key words used to find our site, your IP-address, the browser type and language, access time, location if using the Dance Studio Locator etc. Dance Africa Network uses this information for improving its site and services.

When creating a profile as a dancer, dance crew,and/or choreographer we ask you to consent to providing personal information, such as your email address, name, telephone number, etc. This information is not displayed in the searchable databases until you change the privacy setting of our user interface to make it displayable. The membership database is only accessible to logged in users. Other user roles are not visible to logged in/out users. We required this information in order for us to verify that you are directly or indirectly involved in the dance business. This information will therefore be kept by us as long as is necessary for us to use your information as described above or to comply with our legal obligations.

This includes information provided at the time of registering to use our Website (where relevant), subscribing to our service, or requesting further services and/or information. We may also ask you for information when you enter a competition or promotion and when you report a problem with the Website. If you provide your Facebook, Google or other third-party accounts to Dance Africa Network, it provides us with a link to your social networks.

We will do our best to protect your Personal Information, and we will use technology that will help us to do this, however, the transmission of information via the Internet is not completely secure and we cannot guarantee the security of your information transmitted to our Website. Any transmission of your information to our Website is entirely at your own risk.
